JBF Stainless
In 2017 , Jake Feldmeier, founder of JBF Stainless contacted us to look at (2) options for the growing business of Stainless Steel tanks for the Beverage Industry. Having been located in a leased facility we looked at expansion in to the adjacent vacant space with an addition vs. a totally new facility. After working up figures on both it was decided to pursue the new facility on a site in Frankfort NY at the "Pumpkin Patch" Industrial Park, adjacent to Heidelberg Bread, which we built in 2016. Construction started in the spring of 2018 and was completed in December of 2018
The unique 43,000 sf facility includes a 60' clear height High Bay Fabrication and Shipping area with (4) 15 ton Bridge cranes, which allows fabrication of the large tanks vertically. The Low Bay area includes (2) Gantry cranes, smaller equipment, and a Receiving area. Also included is a 3500 sf Office Headquarters with a Storage Mezzanine above.
Congratulations to the team at JBF for the move to the new facility.

SR Sloan
Our relationship with this client began in 1999, when Mr. Steve Sloan began pursuit of expanding or relocating his families' wood truss and stair business, which was located in several small buildings which they were outgrowing rapidly.
Over the next few years, we pursued expansion at the existing site, a new site near the existing, and relocation to an existing vacant plant. In 2005, we put Mr. Sloan together with a local land owner and site contractor, Mr. Fred Burrows Jr., who owned a new 100 acre site, at the intersection of the new Judd Rd. extension, NYS 840, and Halsey Rds. in Whitestown, and eventually negotiated this new 63,000 square-foot Design-Build project. This was the first project at this site which now includes a new access road, utilities, and space for future development.
The state of the art facility includes 35,000 square-feet of Truss Production, 4,000 square-foot Truck Maintenance area, a 15,000 square-foot Stair fabrication shop, 7500 square-feet of new Office and Plant support rooms, a 5 acre exterior material storage area, and new manufacturing equipment.

Meyda Tiffany
This 83,500 square-foot Butler Building expansion for Meyda Tiffany in Yorkville, NY began on site in early August of 2000. The planning process, however, began nearly (2) years earlier when the owner of this manufacturer and distributor of stained glass products, contacted our office to discuss his expansion needs. The relationship between our firms had begun in 1993 when Meyda purchased an abandoned 60,000 square-foot facility and contacted us to replace a 24,000 square-foot area with a new pre-engineered building. We were successful in completing that design/build project and were able to build on our relationship to obtain this new project, which will more than double the size of the current facilities. The new project includes a 63,380 square-foot manufacturing and warehouse area with a 5,600 square-foot first floor showroom, 5,600 square-foot second floor photography and office area, as well as a 7,800 square-foot warehouse mezzanine. PLC Trenching - Clinton, NY
PLC Trenching, LLC, based in Clinton NY, is a contracting company that owns, operates, and maintains specialty trenching and cabling equipment. In 2006, they contacted us to design and build their first building to maintain the equipment. This project, a 13,000 sf custom Butler building had (2) 10-ton bridge cranes, (4) 2-ton jib hoists, with a machine shop, wash bay, storage mezzanine, and support offices, lunch rooms etc.. They quickly outgrew that building and had us return in 2008 to more than double that space to add another 13,000 sf shop with (2) more cranes and jib hoists, as well as a 3,200 sf prep and paint booth that can handle up to 50' equipment. Later in 2008, we continued with a Butler custom-designed, conventionally framed 2-story 10,500 sf Office building attached to the original shop building.
The owner, Mr. David Critelli, wanted to use a "European" style in this building. The timing of the introduction of Butler's Azimuth siding system could not have come at a better time, as that was exactly the look he wanted, in a black color. We worked with our Architects, Alesia and Crewell, New Hartford, NY, to design the building around the Azimuth product and also to utilize the Koreteck wall system, which we have used on several projects. We included butt-glazed strip windows and solar shades to create the sleek look. The interior finishes also follow the European look using polished granite floor tile, manufactured aluminum and cherry wood partitions, cherry wood ceilings, stainless steel railings, specialty lighting, and very high tech furniture systems. The building also uses water source heat pumps for a multi zone energy efficient HVAC system.

Harley Davidson of Utica - New York Mills, NY
When Harley Davidson of Utica (A Division of the Carbone Auto Group) needed a new facility, they turned to us to complete the Design-Build / Construction Management Services. We started work on the 24,000 square-foot Butler Building Facility in October 2002 and continued through the harsh winter of 2002-2003. The grand opening of the high-profile motorcycle dealership and service center was held as planned on June 2, 2003.
Located in New York Mills, NY the building exterior features a wide variety of conventional and Butler Building products. Far from cookie-cutter uniformity, we achieved a unique appearance through the use of large aluminum storefront windows, cultured stone veneer, exposed wood timber trusses, cement board siding, Butler's "Snap-It" architectural roofing and the "Texture-Wall" insulated metal wall panel with an "EIFS / DRYVIT" type finish.
Inside the dealership, the more notable design features include an in-floor radiant heat system throughout, second floor mezzanines, and a ground concrete floor finish known as Retro-Plate.
This project shows the true diversity of the Butler-Building system and our ability to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient Design-Build / Construction Management Services.

The project proceeded immediately thereafter with site preparation, which included removal of over 7,000 cubic yards of organic materials and replacement with structural fill. Foundations and Butler Building erection proceeded through the harsh winter of 2000-2001. The Warehouse was enclosed in May/June, and the Sitework completed in July allowing the owner to occupy in early August. Having proceeded with the project through the winter months allowed the owner to occupy (4) months earlier than waiting until the following spring would have allowed.
The striking exterior of the 2-story 20,000 square-foot Office Building utilizes exterior insulation finish system, aluminum and glass, and ground face masonry units which shows the versatility of the Butler Building System.

MVCC Student Housing
A design-build $6 million, 3-story, 155-bed residence hall was completed August 2005. The 41,000 square-foot building is located next to existing student housing, enabling more than 400 of the college's 5000 students to live on campus. The architect chose a red brick exterior which coincides with the exterior of the existing student housing. The building will feature five-person suites with two double rooms and one-single room, along with a common gathering area and bathroom. Rooms are wired for Internet, telephone and cable-television services. Our company was selected on a design/build delivery system. Also we built two connecting links between the existing dorms to allow for better security and control for campus safety.

Wilber Duck Chevy
In the spring of 2011, we sent out letters to local Chevrolet Dealerships asking if they were going to complete the renovations that were a new Image requirement from General Motors. The Wilber Duck dealership in Oneida responded and asked if we could meet with them. Following that meeting we prepared a budget based on the preliminary information from GM. We then offered our Design-Build Pre-Construction services to develop the drawings enough to prepare a more accurate budget.
In the fall of 2011, the owners accepted the budget. Through the winter, we completed the Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical plans with our consulting Architect and Engineers. The plans were submitted and approved by GM. We then bid out the project to a qualified list of area sub-contractors and suppliers and finalized costs for the items we self-perform.
The project began in March and was completed in early November 2012. The renovations included a complete removal of the Showroom building exterior, structural modifications for the new storefront layout and new GM Standard Aluminum Panels and signage. Also included were 2 additions – one for New Car Delivery and a Service Entrance Canopy. A complete interior demolition and renovation of the Showroom, Sales, Business, and Executive Offices, Customer Waiting, Service Write Up and Parts Sale areas was completed. Also a new electrical service and completely new HVAC systems were installed.
We are glad to have led the design and construction renovating this 80 year old building giving it a brand new look that meets the new GM/Chevrolet standards. We will add this project to our growing list of completed Auto Dealership projects.
