Whether it's a Butler building for commercial, manufacturing, or warehousing and distribution, we assure the highest quality, fastest delivery, and competitiveness that our clients deserve.
As a Butler "Career Builder", we have completed nearly 3 million square-feet of Butler building projects for satisfied clients in Central and Northern NY, primarily on a Design-Build basis.
Among the many clients and projects for which we have constructed Butler pre-engineered buildings include American Alloy Steel, Rome, NY; PLC Trenching, Clinton, NY; Harley-Davidson Stores for the Carbone Auto Group in Yorkville & Amsterdam, NY; Northern Safety Co., Meyda Tiffany, and Tri-Valley Beverage all in the Utica, NY area. We have also been involved in many other smaller projects and renovations of all sizes.
We normally self-perform all concrete foundation and building erection with our own forces, not sub-contractors.
As a Butler Builder® since 1982, we have completed nearly 3 million square-feet of new Butler and conventional Design/Build buildings and renovation projects. Over the last 35 years, we have erected many manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities from 2,000 to 150,000 square-feet for satisfied clients throughout Central and Northern New York.
In 2017 , Jake Feldmeier, founder of JBF Stainless contacted us to look at (2) options for the growing business of Stainless Steel tanks for the Beverage Industry. Having been located in a leased facility we looked at expansion in to the adjacent vacant space with an addition vs. a totally new facility. After working up figures on both it was decided to pursue the new facility on a site in Frankfort NY at the "Pumpkin Patch" Industrial Park, adjacent to Heidelberg Bread, which we built in 2016. Construction started in the spring of 2018 and was completed in December of 2018
The unique 43,000 sf facility includes a 60' clear height High Bay Fabrication and Shipping area with (4) 15 ton Bridge cranes, which allows fabrication of the large tanks vertically. The Low Bay area includes (2) Gantry cranes, smaller equipment, and a Receiving area. Also included is a 3500 sf Office Headquarters with a Storage Mezzanine above.
Congratulations to the team at JBF for the move to the new facility.
Precisionmatics Manufacturing Facility
The Design-Build project is a (6) unit Butler building. The units include the Main plant, Offices, High bay for material receiving and storage with a bridge crane, a (6) Bay Scrap Dock, and Truck Canopy.
This project involved the construction of a new 63,000 SF facility that included a 49,000 SF Butler Building Production/Warehouse with a large 14,000 SF conventional built office area attached to the Butler Building that now houses their main operations.
The $7.6 Million project had an aggressive 6 month construction schedule with liquidated damages. Site work commenced on May 9, 2016 and substantial completion. The ensuing Certificate of Occupancy was attained on October 31, 2016.
Some of the features of the new Production/Warehouse space included several large Bridge cranes, (2) new Loading docks with Dock Levels, a new Dimplex Chiller to help in their printing operations, new LED lighting and several large curtain walls to allow the influx of natural lighting.
The office space is complete with a new lobby/reception area, (2) large conference rooms, (2) open office areas complete with a dehumidification/misting system, several large individual office that run the perimeter of the office space, and a Showcase Room that will allow the owner to display numerous awards.
This 28,800 SF Baking Facility for Heidelberg Bread, was the very first building in the Herkimer County IDA's "Pumpkin Patch" Industrial Park located in Frankfort, NY. The building replaces the original Heidelberg plant in Herkimer which the company had outgrown due to its continued growth and high demand for the artisan bread products they have produced since 1983.
The project was completed on a Design-Build basis that included Site, Structural, Architectural and Mechanical/Electrical design and construction. The building includes separate Production and Packaging areas, Hi-R value Insulated Metal Wall and Roof Panels, Staff offices and support facilities.
American Alloy Steel 2015 Expansion
The 63' x 325' addition includes (2) 20 ton bridge cranes, for a total of (8) cranes in the facility. We are proud to continue our relationship with this Houston, Texas based client.
In February 2014, we completed the construction of the new 44,000 sf Manufacturing Plant for Feldmeier Equipment in Little Falls.
Our relationship with this client began in 1999, when Mr. Steve Sloan began pursuit of expanding or relocating his families' wood truss and stair business, which was located in several small buildings which they were outgrowing rapidly.
Over the next few years, we pursued expansion at the existing site, a new site near the existing, and relocation to an existing vacant plant. In 2005, we put Mr. Sloan together with a local land owner and site contractor, Mr. Fred Burrows Jr., who owned a new 100 acre site, at the intersection of the new Judd Rd. extension, NYS 840, and Halsey Rds. in Whitestown, and eventually negotiated this new 63,000 square-foot Design-Build project. This was the first project at this site which now includes a new access road, utilities, and space for future development.
The state of the art facility includes 35,000 square-feet of Truss Production, 4,000 square-foot Truck Maintenance area, a 15,000 square-foot Stair fabrication shop, 7500 square-feet of new Office and Plant support rooms, a 5 acre exterior material storage area, and new manufacturing equipment.
After years of legal and environmental delays, finally in the year 2000 the City of Utica demolished the abandoned factory and prepared the site for re-development. We teamed with Butler Real Estate to offer a Design/Build-Lease project that was ultimately accepted by the City, the NYS D.E.C., and Utica Converters. The 96,000 square-foot project was completed in less than 6 months, a month ahead of schedule.
Utica Converters, a subsidiary of Goodyear Tires of North America, produces polyester cord materials used in tires and will add several jobs due to this expansion.

This 83,500 square-foot Butler Building expansion for Meyda Tiffany in Yorkville, NY began on site in early August of 2000. The planning process, however, began nearly (2) years earlier when the owner of this manufacturer and distributor of stained glass products, contacted our office to discuss his expansion needs. The relationship between our firms had begun in 1993 when Meyda purchased an abandoned 60,000 square-foot facility and contacted us to replace a 24,000 square-foot area with a new pre-engineered building. We were successful in completing that design/build project and were able to build on our relationship to obtain this new project, which will more than double the size of the current facilities. The new project includes a 63,380 square-foot manufacturing and warehouse area with a 5,600 square-foot first floor showroom, 5,600 square-foot second floor photography and office area, as well as a 7,800 square-foot warehouse mezzanine. Once the showroom is complete, we will renovate the existing offices and showroom to a new 7,000 square-foot office area. The warehouse and manufacturing area is scheduled for completion in December 2000, the showroom for February, and the office renovations for April 2001.
F.X. Matt's - Tanker Dock Addition
We have continued our relationship with the FX Matt Brewing Co. to design and build this small but important addition to facilitate Tanker trucks that deliver and ship beer to the facility.
The Butler addition includes room for (2) Tanker trucks with provisions for oil/water separation and containment, wash down, ventilation, heat and electrical.
A 7,000 square-foot Butler building to house bulk aluminum for processing by a new shredding machine, was completed in 2007. PLC Trenching - Clinton, NY
PLC Trenching, LLC, based in Clinton NY, is a contracting company that owns, operates, and maintains specialty trenching and cabling equipment. In 2006, they contacted us to design and build their first building to maintain the equipment. This project, a 13,000 sf custom Butler building had (2) 10-ton bridge cranes, (4) 2-ton jib hoists, with a machine shop, wash bay, storage mezzanine, and support offices, lunch rooms etc.. They quickly outgrew that building and had us return in 2008 to more than double that space to add another 13,000 sf shop with (2) more cranes and jib hoists, as well as a 3,200 sf prep and paint booth that can handle up to 50' equipment. Later in 2008, we continued with a Butler custom-designed, conventionally framed 2-story 10,500 sf Office building attached to the original shop building.
The owner, Mr. David Critelli, wanted to use a "European" style in this building. The timing of the introduction of Butler's Azimuth siding system could not have come at a better time, as that was exactly the look he wanted, in a black color. We worked with our Architects, Alesia and Crewell, New Hartford, NY, to design the building around the Azimuth product and also to utilize the Koreteck wall system, which we have used on several projects. We included butt-glazed strip windows and solar shades to create the sleek look. The interior finishes also follow the European look using polished granite floor tile, manufactured aluminum and cherry wood partitions, cherry wood ceilings, stainless steel railings, specialty lighting, and very high tech furniture systems. The building also uses water source heat pumps for a multi zone energy efficient HVAC system.
This 104,000 SF multi-purpose indoor sports complex is our largest Butler Building project in several years. Other indoor spaces include (3) full-size multi-purpose courts lined for basketball, volleyball and other sports, nine 70' long batting cages, four pitching lanes with mounds, a locker room with shower facilities, a pro shop, a fitness center, a team conference room, and a café/juice bar.
Harley Davidson of Utica - New York Mills, NY
When Harley Davidson of Utica (A Division of the Carbone Auto Group) needed a new facility, they turned to us to complete the Design-Build / Construction Management Services. We started work on the 24,000 square-foot Butler Building Facility in October 2002 and continued through the harsh winter of 2002-2003. The grand opening of the high-profile motorcycle dealership and service center was held as planned on June 2, 2003.
Located in New York Mills, NY the building exterior features a wide variety of conventional and Butler Building products. Far from cookie-cutter uniformity, we achieved a unique appearance through the use of large aluminum storefront windows, cultured stone veneer, exposed wood timber trusses, cement board siding, Butler's "Snap-It" architectural roofing and the "Texture-Wall" insulated metal wall panel with an "EIFS / DRYVIT" type finish.
Inside the dealership, the more notable design features include an in-floor radiant heat system throughout, second floor mezzanines, and a ground concrete floor finish known as Retro-Plate.
This project shows the true diversity of the Butler-Building system and our ability to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient Design-Build / Construction Management Services.

The project proceeded immediately thereafter with site preparation, which included removal of over 7,000 cubic yards of organic materials and replacement with structural fill. Foundations and Butler Building erection proceeded through the harsh winter of 2000-2001. The Warehouse was enclosed in May/June, and the Sitework completed in July allowing the owner to occupy in early August. Having proceeded with the project through the winter months allowed the owner to occupy (4) months earlier than waiting until the following spring would have allowed.

Utica College - Welcome Center
Utica College's new Welcome Center, serves as the first stop for prospective students and their families. After having abandoned a previous design that was over budget, we worked with the owner to develop a concept that met their budget and achieved a look that blended with the existing campus. The Design-Build project is a 5,500 sf custom Butler pre-engineered building with conventional exterior products including brick, blue stone, architectural metal, and aluminum/glass.
Some of the building's features include a Great Room with a 17' high ceiling and floor to ceiling Bluestone fireplace, six interview rooms for individual conferences with students and parents as well as a large open office area, conference room and lounge for faculty and staff The Great Room offers such amenities as wireless capabilities, USB Ports and audio-visual infrastructure for use by visiting families. Wilber Duck Chevy
In the spring of 2011, we sent out letters to local Chevrolet Dealerships asking if they were going to complete the renovations that were a new Image requirement from General Motors. The Wilber Duck dealership in Oneida responded and asked if we could meet with them. Following that meeting we prepared a budget based on the preliminary information from GM. We then offered our Design-Build Pre-Construction services to develop the drawings enough to prepare a more accurate budget.
In the fall of 2011, the owners accepted the budget. Through the winter, we completed the Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical plans with our consulting Architect and Engineers. The plans were submitted and approved by GM. We then bid out the project to a qualified list of area sub-contractors and suppliers and finalized costs for the items we self-perform.
The project began in March and was completed in early November 2012. The renovations included a complete removal of the Showroom building exterior, structural modifications for the new storefront layout and new GM Standard Aluminum Panels and signage. Also included were 2 additions – one for New Car Delivery and a Service Entrance Canopy. A complete interior demolition and renovation of the Showroom, Sales, Business, and Executive Offices, Customer Waiting, Service Write Up and Parts Sale areas was completed. Also a new electrical service and completely new HVAC systems were installed.
We are glad to have led the design and construction renovating this 80 year old building giving it a brand new look that meets the new GM/Chevrolet standards. We will add this project to our growing list of completed Auto Dealership projects. View more
